Party Faces
Artist Statement
Do you ever notice that while under the influence of certain substances people change the way they behave almost instinctively? Party Faces was an idea that came about because of this phenomenon. While in the prime of our lives we are surrounded on all sides by temptations to partake in a rite of passage only akin to a college lifestyle: the house party. Isn't it fortuitous that this epic misadventure is available for all to engage in? Party Faces is a study on the typical coed, who, under the influence of alcoholic beverage, is transmogrified within into something completely foreign yet stunningly interesting. Inescapable is the result: a wholly new person with a distinctively new personality and by nature more interesting because of the change. You see people for what they are on the outside simply black and white, but the unifying feature that adds color to the relationship of them all is what's in the cup. Not liquid courage, nor firewater, giggle juice, or hooch, not panther sweat, nor do it fluid, booze, or goof. Its alternate personalities! An entirely new room of interesting and colorful people, unified by drink, and by the supposition of the fantastical hyperbole exiting their unified orifice into a simple story and single being.
